Early Childhood Education Diploma & Human Services Worker Diploma (Established 2018)
The Kiwanis Clubs of Kelowna donated $125,000 to Okanagan College to support students who will graduate and work with children and youth in the community. Both early childhood educators and human service workers play a significant role in supporting the well-being of children and youth.
The purpose of the Fund is to provide two or more annual awards of $2,000.00 each for Okanagan College students who meet the following criteria. Preference is given to a student from the Central Okanagan who has demonstrated volunteer and or leadership skills, significant financial need, and has been a member or related to a member, past or present, of Kiwanis International. This award is made on behalf of the Kiwanis Clubs of Kelowna in recognition of their many contributions to the Central Okanagan Region.
Preference will be given to students who are from the Okanagan Region and:
must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
have demonstrated volunteer and/or leadership skills
have demonstrated significant financial need
have been a member or related to a member, past or present, of Kiwanis International
The Annual awards are made available to students in the Early Childhood Education Diploma program at the Kelowna Campus of Okanagan College and in the Human Service Work Diploma.
